This pistol is a hefty boy. The weight is the most noticeable thing about this gun when first holding. I got this gun as a fun range gun and that is just what it is. The trigger on it has a nice clean break with little to no travel. The slide has a very nice fit as well, the spring is also pretty stiff but will get better the more you shoot it. If you are looking for a concealed carry then this might not be the best fit for you( try Kimber maybe) but if you are looking for a fun gun that gives you enough capacity to put a smile on anyone’s face this is the gun for you. ( I ran about 200 rounds through it so far without failure)

This was my first 1911, I wanted to add the platform to my small quiver of firearms. With limited experience, with 1911’s my reasons for selecting the RIA M1911-A1 Tact 2011 was based on aesthetics and round count. When I got the call that the gun arrived at my FFL, I had a level of anxiety about what will happen if the gun is not what I expected, or had some other defect. What came to mind when I first held the gun, was that this pistol was not a Glock or an M&P type pistol. Being steel the gun had some weight, the pistol grip was wider then other 1911’s due to the double stacked magazine. The action was smooth for a gun from the factory, the trigger was crisp at 4 to 5 lbs and had a clean break. Once again, my experience with 1911’s is limited. I purchased a drop in threaded barrel for my 45 Osprey. Lucky for me the barrel needed little fitting to the gun. Finally, after getting all the shipping grease off. I got out to the range and loaded up the one and only 13 round clip the gun came with. All I can say is it was love at first shot…The accuracy was phenomenal. I have been working at getting better at pistol shooting and with this 1911 I was hitting targets at 20 -30 yards. The gun did not have a single jam or misfeed the whole range session. Overall, I am very pleased with this gun. If you are thinking about getting into the 1911’s this pistol is not a bad place to begin. Substantially cheaper than custom 1911’s but has out of the box upgrades not found on most out of the box firearms, The performance was of this gun was flawless accuracy through 200 rounds and not a single malfunction. What more could I ask for buying a gun off the internet that I never seen or shot! Thank you Firearmssupplier gunshop for making this a seamless transaction.

Rock Island Armory 51567 TAC Ultra FSHC Single .45
Purchased back on the 17th, Was glad to find at Buds, as these seem hard to come by. The gun shoots like a dream!!! The steel construction keeps muzzle on target shot after shot.
i put 60 rounds of Tula Ammo 230 grain FMJ through the pipe, no issues at all and every round hit where I pointed.
Only slight negative is that I had to join Team firearmssuppliers ( 29.00 dollars) So I could order the gun. Then again after checking 40 dealers online, this website was only one with gun. GREAT purchase and a fantastic customer service and swift shipping. they kept to their words of shipping within 2 working days. Awesome gun

Best out-of-box experience from any gun purchased. Action was very smooth. Fiber optic front sight was easy to acquire—required no adjustment. Using 3 different magazines, I shot one box of Federal American Eagle 230gr. FMJ. No jams or mis-feeds. This is a double stack firearm—people with small hands may find it uncomfortable to hold

Had previously purchased this double stack in 10mm and 9mm. I was impressed enough with those to get it in 45acp. Rock Island makes some nice 1911’s, especially for the price. Good shooter. I am not concerned with the projected life time of mim parts.
