TECHNOLOGY OF THE FUTURE
nDLC finish for barrel and slide
GLOCK‘s nDLC provides tougher, more durable protection than previously used finish. The nDLC finish is exclusive to the GLOCK manufacturing process. The nDLC finish increases protection against corrosion and scratching and improves the ability of the pistol to function in degreased or adverse conditions. The nDLC finish will be exclusive to Gen5 pistols at this time.
Ambidextrous Slide Stop Lever
The ambidextrous slide stop lever makes it easier for gun owners to quickly, safely and comfortably manipulate the slide whether they are left-handed or right-handed.
SPEED
Flared mag-well
The larger opening of the flared mag-well makes it easier to funnel the magazine into the mag-well, particularly in high-stress situations where fractions of seconds matter.
ACCURACY
GLOCK Marksman Barrel
The GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) features new barrel rifling which delivers improved accuracy.
VERSATILITY
Removal of the finger grooves on the grip
Removing the finger grooves improves the ergonomics of the grip. The absence of finger grooves improves the ability of the pistol to deliver a consistently comfortable grip to a wider range of consumers, regardless of their finger size and whether or not gloves are worn.
GLOCK Gen5 Magazine
The new GLOCK Gen5 magazine comes with an orange follower and a floor plate which is extended at the front for faster magazine change.
The GLOCK Gen5 models also feature some of the proven Gen4 advantages, such as:
Modular backstrap and beavertail system
Every GLOCK Gen4 and Gen5 model comes with backstraps in two sizes each one with or without beaver tail. The multiple backstrap frame allows the users to change the circumference of the grip to fit their individual hand size.
Enlarged reversible magazine catch
The magazine catch of the Gen4 and Gen5 frames is reversible and enlarged towards the rear of the pistol. The reversible magazine catch is more user friendly to the shooter‘s reach and allows them to switch the catch to the left or right side of the pistol.
RTF Rough textured frame surface
The Gen4 and Gen5 have a rough textured frame (Gen4 RTF) surface designed to enhance grip traction, without being too aggressive. It is present on the frame as well as on the interchangeable backstraps.

Unfortunately I have yet to shoot the gun due to all the closures and shortage of ammo. But I will say the whole process of getting it and receiving it was not only easy but a pleasurable experience. I thought due to the covid issue it was going to take forever to get my firearm. It didn’t. I also thought because of the high demand of firearms it would be impossible for me to find a gun I wanted and could afford on the current financial constraints. Yes I looked for a few days and kept going back to see if firearmssuppliers got new inventory and yes they did. Thank you firearmssuppliers! Will definitely buy from you guys again

Second time I’ve ordered from firearmssuppliers and like last time the process was absolutely butter smooth. I picked the firearm up took it to the range and put 100 rounds through it that night and it worked flawlessly. The following Sunday I took a defensive handgun class and used this gun, putting nearly 500 rounds through it over the 8 hour day with zero issues. That day I was doing a number of things with it that were somewhat new to me (i.e drawing from the holster, shooting drills, using dummy rounds to simulate malfunctions etc.) everything worked great. In my first three outings with the gun I’ve had no issues and am excited for the optic to arrive and get that mounted.

Not much of mine is still factory, but I did not replace parts because they failed or were giving me issues with function. Mine functioned flawlessly out of the box and other than a mushy trigger I liked it well enough. For the casual shooter a bone stock Glock 17 is a great choice for a primary sidearm. I shoot a lot and upgraded parts to turn it from a good gun to an ideal gun. Parts are plentiful, magazines are cheap, holsters and accessories are also plentiful and reasonably priced. There’s a lot to like about Glocks. I can’t give it less than 5 stars because it does everything it is supposed to do well straight out of the box. To me it’s the ultimate platform to start with. “you can’t make a great banana split without good ice cream”
